"You can get away with so much more than I can." Matthew's mother was referring to the fact that I tease him all the time.

"Yeah, but I have to put up with a lot." I grinned at her.

"Oh, I know!" We had the whole conversation in front of him.

A happy 26th birthday to a regular reader! Richard I presume?

3 17 am pst   [ obscure locales ]

We went and saw a late showing of The Insider after I treated my man to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. He was getting a bit stir crazy in the house -- a feeling I can certainly identify with. The movie was a wonderful treat, and M was delighted to recognize some of the more obscure Berkeley locales.

5 29 pm pst   [ routines ]

Last night, as she sat on the couch, Matthew's mother said, "I just had a scary though: in twenty years I will be seventy-two." I think being seventy-two will be wonderful, but I am left to wonder if I will begin to fear old age as I approach it. I will try not to.

Matthew and I slip into routines more easily than I care to admit. Skiing for only a handful of days we found that we were behaving in the same was day in and day out. I like it -- I like the regularity, and the feeling of home we can create together anywhere.

Our routine now involves staying up very late and sleeping in until 1 pm. We stayed up until 6 in the morning yesterday, and I still woke up promptly at 1 pm. My body is trained.

My body and I were having a rocky relationship, but we seem to be better now. I am still stuffed up, but my cough is not as bad as I feared it would be. I am looking forward to being completely better.

I have been wearing my glasses much more often, to encourage Matthew to wear his. The two sets of specs of clink together when we kiss. It makes me giggle every time.
