A gay friend, having not worked out in a long time, referred to his body as expired meat. A friend going through menopause refers to her hot flashes as personal summers.

We all have our personal vocabularies -- choice words and phrases. I have a special set for my parents, my brother, and Matthew. And over my years on this planet, I have developed my own word preferences for everyday living.

One word I make extensive use of is grouchy. I share this because I was grouchy today; there's no better word for it. I took off from Matthew's for a few hours alone. Soon I will be returning so we can see Mission to Mars with his mom...
