I talked my mum into taking our dog for a long walk up
to the state park. She didn't want to. We really never go for long walks
with him ever since my mother, dog,
and I were attacked by rotweilers. She said she wanted to go walking
just the two of us, but I talked her into taking our pooch, and she later
admitted it was a good idea. As she walked, she suggested that we carry a
stick in case and dogs gave us trouble. My theory was that lightening
doesn't strike twice in the same place -- we will never be attacked by
dogs again, at least not in anything close to that magnitude.

Yesterday I started a book. A light bulb flashed on
over my head, and I scrawled down 717 words. Today I reached 944 words,
and I intend to make a daily report until I peter out or finish the beast
(which would take at least a year). I had been working on my novel, but
it wasn't going anywhere... This non-fiction work has really sparked
something in me.
