10 33 pm pdt   [ ill fridge ]

Yes, I am still tomato red, but have not started peeling yet. [I know you want daily reports on the skin on my face. Actually, my face doesn't hurt at all, but my chest hurts if my clothes rub on it.]

My mom was a little distraught this evening because she made a huge shopping trip this morning, and this evening our fridge and freezer decided to stop cooling. I packed up a good portion of the food and came here to my dad's house. I made it just in time to watch a sitcom [where is that word from?] episode on cybersex. I swear I envisioned the pervasiveness of this culture. I had the plot for You've Got Mail and many other cyberstories in my head in 1994. I thought they would do much better as novels than films, but we all like our cinema.

I have been reading The Fool's Run by John Sandford and coming to grips with the fact that my hacker fantasy is the product of popular culture. Are there actually attractive loners who make a living on illegal activities and live reclusive lives? He has to not exercise much (thought it would be so much nicer if he was in shape) and eat too many microwave meals. He is lean and pale, and perhaps he wears small wire frames. How many movies is this man in? He is certainly the hero of this book, though my fantasy is younger than the impression I get that this character is. Anyway, it's juicy fodder for the evening. I read a good portion of it sitting in the backyard as the sun slowly set. Three owls were who-whoing at each other and the buzz of insects was deafening, though they mostly left me alone. I had my dog with me, and he was back to his hyper self after being sick. My mom's boyfriend is also better after being sick, so now we only have an ill fridge to contend with.

two years ago today: "I am finishing my movie today -- at least the nine minute version."

one year ago today: I didn't write because I was busy preparing for my college graduation, which was six days later.
