I had a long Dream in which I was attending a strange
school. It was much to mechanical, with thousands of chairs layed out in
a grid in some open space by the ocean. There were no partitions between
the rooms. It must have been my first day, because I kept getting lost,
being late, and having to figure out how everything worked.

|
The second part of my dream involved driving the
Matthew's sister's house. She lived tucked away on a mountain near the
school, and it took much maneuvering to get there. At one point I though
her mother had driven us off a bridge but it turned out to be a shortcut.
When we finally arrived, the burnt orange building was crowded with
students and none of the rooms were regualrly shaped. This might be
inspired by me watching the opening of the tombs of the golden mummies on
tv last night.

The last part of my dream involved me standing talking
to Matthew's mom in some other part of the campus. I don't know what we
were talking about, but someone walked by and complimented me on my outfit
and I looked down and noticed I was wearing an oversized pants suit made
out of the same material and pattern as my crimson
dress with the yellow flowers. Then someone called my name from my
right and I looked up to see several people independently waving to me. I
only recognized Josh, who
was sitting in the front. I woke up before I could approach him.

Do not haunt my dreams, Josh. Find me. Let me know you're ok.

Matthew
and I went to see the new Mission Impossible at noon, enjoying
having no daytime obligations. The effects were stunningly good and the
plot was laughably bad. Whoever wrote the film somehow decided that
Ethan Hunt was actually James Bond, so there is much more emphasis on
romance and fist fights, where I would have much prefered more of the
covert spy stuff. Y'all know I secretly want to work for the FBI.
| |
|
But when I say the effects were stunning, I mean that
they were so transparent that I couldn't even tell where they were (and I
know how to look for them). The mask effect is also gorgous and they show
it enough times that you can be totally blown away by it. Even if you
look for the seams really hard, you won't find them.

I called the guy at my most promising jobbie job offer, and he said an official offer was
in the mail, so I can just trot home on Sunday and sign it if I want. I
am so glad that worked out, because I am getting more and more excited
about it. I would start work on July 12th if I take it. I'm also
supposed to go in for an interview in Burbank next week. The guy is very
nice, and the pay is better, but the position is less of what I want.

"Before leaving for the airport I had been thinking about how lovely it is
to have an empty flight, and have a whole row of seats to yourself, but I
actually tend to prefer to be seated next to an interesting yapper, with
who I can gab away the flight. This is exactly what I got."
one month ago today: "The sex
with a stranger fantasy involves a spontaneity an impulsiveness which
I certainly possess, but which I balance against my brain instructing me
to follow the 'let's wait several weeks while we get his and hers matching
blood tests' fantasy. This is not the era of reckless abandon by any
means..."
