I stayed up too late last night, watching this fascinating show on the biological evidence that women cheat as much as men. Matthew and I we discussing the validity of certain studies and assertions. We both agreed with the show's claim that women tend to be more forgiving of a one night stand and less so of an emotional attatchment, whereas men tend to not care as much if a woman forms an emotional attachment, but get more upset if she has intercourse with another. The show asserted that this was due to a women's desire to find a man to provide for her children, whereas the man is concerned with having children, and being certain that the children he puts energy into providing for are really his. The show also said that in studies in Amaerica, they found that 10% of children were from a different father than the one who reaised them (without their knowledge). That statistic seemed really high. [Sorry I couldn't come up with a better way of wording that.] Hopefully I can write about this further sometime.
