7 57 pm pdt [ etched in my mind ]
I had a magnificent evening last night. Charles (of amaebi.org) picked me up for
dinner at 7. I knew he was going to say he wanted Japanese food, so I checked on the location
of one of my favorite places in Santa Monica, but Chalres suggested a
place in Venice, and we headed off to Hama. The conversation was flowing
between us and I knew the evening would be a good one. Hama is quite the
nightspot, and as we stuffed ourselves, the noise level raised above what
I could hear through. Charles and I screamed at each other that we should
head somewhere quieter.
Charles was the one who suggested Bob Burns. I was
already so contented before we sat down, but the amusing ambiance and the
incredible music of Howlett
Smith let me know that this evening would remain etched in my mind
forever. You haven't lived until you've heard An Ugly Woman Told Me
No and Chitlins in the White House performed live. I know I've
found a new haunt to frequent...
