5 39 pm cdt [ conference day 1 ]
Day one was a whirlwind of showing our product,
answering questions, and schmoozing. Matthew is demoing in a booth quite
near ours, so he managed to pop by and check on me several times. He is
showing a product which is so expensive that it would be quite successful
if they sold three copies this year. We are showing a not quite so
expensive product that we would like to sell thousands of copies of. We
created quite a buzz.
We announced a strategic alliance (or whatever they
call it) with Kodak, and handed out free t-shirts and daiquiris, so our
booth was continually abuzz with throngs of people. Our demo theatre was
always filled and I got dozens of people who were genuinely interested in
purchasing our product. It won't be on the market until the fall.
I'm getting into the Nawlins flavor of life. Matthew and I had the most
amusing waiter last night who said that the food was so good David would
stop flexing and declare it magnificent, and that our eyes would light up
like the Pope's did the night he heard the confession of someone who's
name I have now forgotten. I am giggling a lot.
I took half of my time off to come back to the hotel
for a little nap and change of clothing now. We have a company party on a
river boat tonight, and then we are going to see Electronic Theatre, which
is the conference's showcase of outstanding 2D and 3D short films and
clips. I am looking forward to an evening of unwinding.
