8 19 pm pdt [ boys ] I was having a lovely discussion with one of the programmers about his religious beliefs. I've never met anyone who believed in creationism before. So we were chatting away in his office (and he was being a total peach about answering all my questions) when another programmer walked in. The latter programmer happens to be roommates with the former for more than a year now. I said, "--- and I were just discussing his religious beliefs." The roommate asked, "Oh, does --- have religious beliefs?" I had to fetch my jaw from the carpet. How can you live with someone for over a year and never once discuss religion or politics?!? If you allow my generalization, this seems to be a particularly male thing, to not talk. I once heard someone quote some book that women have face to face realtionships (they talk) and men have side by side relationships (the do). To look at the men and women around me, I find this to be a fair generalization...
