My mother's birthday

11 25 pm pdt   [ celebrate ]

I just had a lovely evening with my friend since first grade, Alexandra. We stuffed ourselves at Chin Chin and had a gorgeous waiter who winked at me when I flased him my million dollar smile. The million dollar smile is not one I can fake. It is most commonly brought on by someone catching me enjoying myself, such as when I am singing and bobbing in my car, enjoying the radio on my commute. I love my million dollar smile.

Here are some pictures from yesterday, when I celebrated my mom's birthday with her...

This is a little corner of my mum's beautiful kitchen. Her obsessive collecting of Jadeite (green glass) goes well with the decor:

The lighting was perfect to get a good picture of myself reflected in the glass window above the kitchen sink while my mom prepared some of her collectibles to be photographed for sale on ebay:

My mom likes getting older, and is always eager to celebrate her birthdays:

My lovely bagle got to stay up way past his bedtime and he was quite a sleepy pooch:

3 years:

three years ago today: Well, my surprise to my mother went exceedingly well. She laughed and cried and everything was perfect.

two years ago today: He and I drove down to Stanford today to see my brother race in an invitational.

one year ago today: At first I thought this was an absurd idea.   I have written webpages as letters to (for example) young cousins who live in Israel, but I have never considered using my diary as a forum for conversation.
