_________________ 10 52 pm pst [ feast ] Today has been a feast for the eyes and ears, as well as the mind. Matthew fell asleep quite early yesterday, and [his roommate] Tom and I decided we needed something to do at midnight, so we rented two movies and bought all the yummy ingredients to make an apple crisp. After that excursion I was ready for bed. So this morning we watched Boiler Room while we ate our breakfast, and I drooled over the superb editting. I felt the film was exceptionally well made, and thus very compelling to watch. Then I turned on Absolute Power and let that run while we got ready to go out. We met Jane and her man Eli for the Taiko festival (I think this is the third time I've seen it). I was not into the addition of a Jazz guitarist to the performance, but I was delighted to get to see Evan Webb perform. He has such an insane amount of energy on stage and he is so quiet and gentle off stage. The contrast is startling and wonderous. After taiko we got an obscene amount of groceries and went home to make gargantuan salads. We watched the new X-files and American Psycho, which I was sure I would hate but instead have found completely captivating. I though I'd head off to bed in the middle, but instead I am glued to my seat. The apple crisp came out perfectly and I know I will sleep havy and full tonight... |
