10 36 pm pst   [ Experiencing. ]

Walking.
Watching.
Enjoying.
Experiencing.

I can't imagine what it would be like to live somewhere where I can't walk safely in the streets. I can't imagine having tanks roll through the streets as a normal occurrence. I can't image what it would be like to live in and area or era where you have to be afraid of air raids.

I can't imagine living in constant fear of death. I can't imagine having to walk through minefields. I can't imagine living with a war on my soil. I can't imagine hearing gunfire when I try to fall asleep at night.

I can't imagine being deported or displaced. I can't imagine my race or religion being eradicated around me.

I can't imagine being homeless. I can't imagine being stalked or surveilled.

I can't imagine not being able to afford a Christmas dinner for my children. I can't imagine being permanently disabled. I can't even imagine being tall.

3 years ago: The film seems to reject the traditions of the culture, as though they can be thrown away like used tissues.

2 years ago: My mom got out pictures of last years xmas, including a gorgeous shot of the tree. She informed me that she's not getting a tree this year. So I suggested that we hang the photo of the tree on the wall, and put the gifts under it.

1 year ago: I am going skiing with Matthew. More specifically, we are a chaperoning a high school ski trip to Park City, Utah. The kids don't frighten me but the mountain does.
