11 33 pm pst   [ freedom ]

Today was my first day of freedom after my six-month stint at a nine to five job. I know I'm silly, but I did my best to enjoy it. Now that we have a new water heater, I am trying to enjoy the hot water too.

I'm waffling on taking the LA job, thinking I ought to live with Matthew at long last. He laughed when I told him.

My sister has arrived in town. Her eyes twinkled with pride when my dad announced we are exactly the same height. She looks more like her mother every time I see her.

I've had a fit of documenting lately. In addition to creating a page where I can record the books and movies I consume in 2001, here are the latest additions:

  • new desktop image

Though I loved my sunset desktop, I knew it was time for a change. When I look through the archive at each image, I can relive where I was and what I felt when I sat in front of each of those images. I can feel my obsession with ambigrams, the days spent watercoloring in Matthew's bed, and the hours drawing with splines at work. [created two days ago]

  • [alcoholic] libations

I decided to write about alcohol, to trace the timeline leading up to my recent tryst with sake. I created the background for this and yesterday's entries from the label on Sho Chiku Bai saké. Three of the symbols are from the lable and one was my own original creation. [created yesterday]

  • books, movies, music, and shows

A few days ago I started making a page of shows I recommended, but then I decided to combine that will all types of media in one place. This desire was partially fed by my plan to make a list of books I have read and movies I have seen. I am hoping to create a virtual bookshelf soon. [created today]

  • my [extensive] dvd collection

I will start keeping track of books and movies with the new year. My brother has been tracking books he had read since high school and I have been saving ticket stubs since August 1996. [created today]

3 years ago: Today we will make the long drive to LA together. I hope seven hours in a small space with me won't drive him too batty.

2 years ago: I remember predicting a movie about an e-mail relationship when I was in highschool, and I remember thinking it would be hard to depict e-mail conversations in an interesting way.

1 year ago: Did I mention the bus ride? In order to get these hundreds of teens to their destination, we are taking a 16 hour bus ride from LA to Park City.
