Matthew's roommate Tom has recently been laid off (with
two month's severance pay!), so he is home during the day. Today I made
him get out of bed (at 2:30!) to go for a hike with me. Three hours
later, the memory stick on the digital camera was full, we had discovered
the Tilden
Botanic Garden, and I was tired.
Tom aspires to be a political journalist, and I've
almost talked him into writing a guest entry.
The day was sunny and crisp. This winter in the Bay
Area has been surprisingly mild. I hope it continues to be such.
We decided to discover what the Brazil Building was and
ended up stumbling across the native plant Botanic Garden, which was
quite lovely but a bit too dry.
