11 41 pm pst   [ big city shopping ]

 

I had a full day. It didn't look as though I was going to when I woke up and the sky was pouring. I was curled on the couch with a large cup of tea when Jeff (of Life In Fragments) called. We made plans to spend the afternoon together after he made the long drive up from San Jose.

We made a bee line to The Blue Nile for lunch and then Jeff picked up two dozen CDs shopping at Amoeba and Rasputin. We both indulged at Cody's Books. Jeff clearly missed big city shopping...

Next we went to the Takara Saké Brewery. While sampling their delights, I got offered a job hosting saké tastings. The idea amused me and I took the application.

Jeff and I entertained ourselves by taking touristy pictures in the "first saké museum in the United States."

Then we drove down to Mountain View for dinner with Matthew at Yakko (975 W Dana St.; pricey but good). I took images in and around his office, looking for scrumptious patterns everywhere. After driving to a night club to retrieve Jeff's stray mobile phone, Matthew and I headed home for the evening.
