2 55 pm pst   [ sharing and preserving ]

I told my mom about my simple resolutions and she shared with me her beautifully enumerated list. I have included it here for the purposes of sharing and preserving it. Names have been changed to descriptors by me, and are denoted by brackets.

[by Rachel's mother...] My goals for 2001:

    1) To keep up my close relationships with my kids, [boyfriend], [best friends], [dog], etc.

    2) To continue making the time for reflection ---- and pleasure

    3) To clean up/out my house

    4) To make a decision about [my job]

    5) To read the pile of "must read" books I have - beginning with Jack & Joyce

    6) To explore more geographical areas while on the road

    7) To explore the opportunity for more consulting jobs

    8) To save more money for the future

    9) To continue growing spiritually & explore potential places of worship

    10) To get back to my vigilant exercise regime & lose some weight

    11) To work on my organizational problems

    12) To go through my hundreds of LPs and make the time to listen to all that great music

    13) To continue exploring the world of disabilities with my students & to continue encouraging them in any way I can.

    14) To simplify my life & get rid of some of my possessions

    15) To continue helping those people who are nearing the end of their days: my Dad, etc.

My quote for the year: "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." (William Morris)

My word for the year: Integrity

We both share a desire for simplicity and a love for that Morris quote (see 20 November 1997 & 27 September 1999).
