I decided to brave the cold and go to the library. I fished out my heaviest jacket, donned gloves and my hood, and made my way to the nearest subway entrance. I bought a metro card and made my way to 41st and 5th only to discover that the library had closed early due to "inclement weather." I decided to venture the twelve blocks to my grandfather's office on foot. I had forgotten what cold was, since fifty degrees is "freezing" to me. After arriving at the office I discovered that they too had closed early...

So I donned my gloves again and began the trek home, hopping on a bus after several blocks, when I decided it was much to cold to walk.

I met someone in Los Angeles recently who had never seen the snow. I highly recommended it to him, suggesting he bundle up his two daughters and drive to one of the nearer ski resorts.

He got my thinking about things I haven't done, or haven't done recently. I haven't been water-skiing since I was prepubescent. I haven't been to the new Getty museum and I haven't been to LACMA in years. I've never been sky diving, even though I've always wanted to.

I'm going to have to work on my plan of trying one new thing a month more diligently...
