12 31 pm est   [ I dream of Kenya ]

I had a long dream that I had flown to Kenya with a woman named Vickey (who I used to know in high school, and haven't really thought of since then). She parked our burgundy rental car in the parking lot of a big building, paid for parking, and we went inside.

We bonded with the employees of what I think was a saké factory, especially one woman who's name I never learned. I spent a lot of time taking digital pictures of beautifully bright colored bugs with Matthew's camera, which kept misbehaving.

At some point I went out side to pay for additional parking, but I could figure out which of the burgundy cars was ours so I returned to the factory. In the course of our tour Vickey admitted that she had lost the key to the car, so we had to spend the evening at the factory while a duplicate was made.

We ate at what looked like a sushi bar in the back of the factory and we were seated according to what we wanted to order. Sweet nigori saké was already poured for us and the chef had a huge (approx. 40 oz) bottle of amber colored saké (it was the color of apple cider vinegar) which he was drinking from as he prepared our food. I remember thinking how different it was from the states.

We told our friend at the factory that we were going to Manzanita (which is a beautiful tree and not a region in Kenya). We made plans to see her Wednesday evening when we returned.

Then the phone woke me up...
