11 32 pm est [ so simply rude ]
I had a family dinner, with my aunt, her husband, her
youngest son (my cousin), my
grandfather, and I. We went to the same restaurant I surprised my
grandfather at on the day I arrived, and I ordered the same pasta.
My aunt brought a will the is part of a lawsuit she is
involved in and I brought a bring out of two branches of the family tree,
as well as a chart of where my grandfather's parents had lived in Nueva
York.
So we ate a long dinner and I tried to steer the
conversation towards my aunts comment that my great grandfather was a
Cossack and my cousin kept commenting on the will, which he was reading
through. Then dinner was done and we sat for quite some time while my
cousin continued reading the will. When he finally finished my aunt asked
a question about it and he said, "I don't think we should discuss this
now." He indicated that he prefered to leave. I caught on right away,
and as we made our way to the coat check I asked, "Do you not want to talk
about it because of me?" He answered, "Yes," and I was rather irritated,
feeling that A) he had no reason not to discuss it in front of me and B)
why on earth had we sat there while he read it just to leave without
comment on it... Lord, he bugs me sometimes. He can be so rude and
inconsiderate.
