My plane fight back to LA was uneventful, and dear
Alexandra was sweet enough to pick me up at the airport so I treated her
to chinese chicken salad, lemonade and bao at Chin Chin and we twittered away. It's amazing how some
relationships require yearly check-ins and others require a day-to-day
update on life as it occures.
I must say I had a spectacular trip. I managed to pick
up a cold at the end, but that didn't cloud my delight in the quality time
I got to spend with Matthew. I told him last night that my life gets
better every day.
I spent last night absorbing this thoroughly engrossing book and trying to stay
hydrated while Matthew attended a business meeting at which he was given
$50 in casino chips as a reward for doing such a superb job during the
day. I was very proud of him.
This morning I had my usual breakfast alone [fresh
squeezed orange juice and hash browns at the Grand Lux Cafe ($6.92)]. I
had packed beforehand, so I only had to trot down to the show floor where
Matthew took and early lunch break. We ate at a Mexican restaurant in the
Grand Canal region of the Venetian. I still marvel that we can talk for
hours and hours after all
this time.
