16 May 2001[ a stop in München photo edition ]
^ Salzburg is Matthew's favorite city in Europe, and the Elefant is Matthew's favorite hotel in Salzburg. We left early in the morning and headed into Germany.
^ We weren't sure where we were going, but it was somewhere near Baden Baden, and Matthew had talked me into stopping at the BMW museum on the way. I got excited that we might make the factory tour.
^ There was no factory tour today, nor could we go in the museum, because we didn't have any local currency, but Matthew was happy enough with the gift shop.
^ He bought three BMW caps, including two with the Juan Pablo Montoya signature, which hadn't been available at the race in Austria.
^ I was impressed that they stayed in the bag until we got back to the car...
^ Matthew looked mighty proud when he donner his new cap.
^ And he was contented for the rest of his drive. I convinced him to go to Baden Baden [he was scared of the naked Roman baths].
^ Our hotel is lovely; we parked near a church with this strange pot sculpture out front. And the bath was magnificent. I could Baden Baden every day!
