Rachel's Daily Diary 9 32 am pdt [ bigger dreams ] Last night I dreamt that I had to drive on the perilous trip into the mountains. Then there was some long snafu ordering food and groceries at a fast food restaurant, but the cashier was very polite. I remember that they didn't have any orange juice. Later I was sitting with a group of people and we were discussing how mountain climbing pollutes the environment. In order to climb, people dumped tons of little foam balls on the mountain, which would mold to your hand and help you get a good grip. I was appalled. Lastly, there was a problem because the coordinator had given everyone the wrong time to be there, so people kept arriving early, and we had to help them find the way, instead of finishing our conference. 7 55 pm pdt [ simple cards ] Matthew is working from home today, and we watched Space Cowboys on video after having breakfast at Ann's Soup Kitchen. As he worked I tried to get more idea box cards online. I only have a few left. Researching links for the cards got me excited about many of the ideas again. I asked if he would pick one. We'll be out of town this coming weekend, so he said he would pick one so we had something to look forward to. He held the card in front of him without smiling, and then asked if he could put it back. I asked which one it was. # 008 I was disappointed that he was alreadu stressed about the idea, instead of having fun with it. "Pick again, so you can have something to look forward to." # 009 That was one more for me than him. "Pick again!" I urged. # 010 He's certainly not thrilled about that one. "That's not something for you to get excited about. Try one more." It's perfect -- a San Francisco adventure copied word for word from the reader who suggested it. Now we have something to look forward to. And he's off upstairs cooking dinner for us, and all is right with the world... |
