10 03 pm pdt [ stretch ]

Amazing how the hours stretch before you when you are working and swirl by when you are playing. Amazing how the subjective nature of time never ceases to fascinate me.

I've spent the whole day working on websites for clients. Matthew was sick, and stayed home from work today. He mostly slept and moped around. I was a bit distraught at not being about to help him shake his funk.

Last Friday, I went to Belmont for an interview. I believe I got the job, but I am unable to take it due to the time required to get there from here in Berkeley.

Matthew dropped me off on his way to work, and I sat on the steps in the sun reading until the hour of my appointment.

After the interview, in which I was forced to answer horrible questions about what I though my good points were, I set off with my camera to make the long trek to the populated part of town.

I passed droves of high school girls, presumably on their lunch break, but I was more interested in the surrounding flora. I liked the neighborhood very much, though Matthew has deemed it too "in the middle of nowhere" to consider moving to.

A neon sign called me to prowl around an estate sale with nothing of interest on display. I felt as though I was living someone else's life for a day.

The fire hydrants were all painted like toys and I located a park right next to the police station. I sat on a bench in the shade to cool off. I read a lot that day.

In fiddling with the camera, I accidentally took a picture of my clothes. Then I centered my attention on an ancient tree.

I figured out how to use the timer, and ran breathlessly to pose, first grinning wildly, and then looking as though I was absorbed in some sort of interpretive dance. The camera chose to take its shots in a rainbow of colors.
