On Wednesday, I got rather list happy and started all sorts of check
lists that I'd like to complete. The categories are books, films,
restaurants, and other. I called the collection Sweet 100s because most of the lists are
"top 100" lists and I love the cherry tomatoes by the same name.
When Matthew got home that night, I was babbling about
all the new restaurants I wanted to try and all the movies I wanted to
see. As we went upstairs to prepare dinner, it just so happened that one
of his roommates had recorded The Killing (1956) and I begged to watch it, mostly so I could
check it off one of my lists. It was so superb as to make me exclaim,
"This is so fantastic!" out loud on several occasions during the
screening.
Last night, Matthew got home a bit early, and we tried
a new Japanese restaurant
[Toyo on Shattuck] before flitting off to catch Bridget Jones's Diary in one of the few
theatres still showing it. As it began, I began cackling out loud. For
several minutes into the film, no one else laughed, and I was sure it was
going to remain that way throughout the film, but soon enough everyone was
doubling over in hysterics. I found the film wildly funny and
entertaining and was so glad we went.
And now I think it is time for me to trot down the hill
and fetch a loaf of bread.

I never made it to market. Matthew came home a bit early and we ran off
for dinner at El Torito and a 7:30 screening of the wonderfully
entertaining Lara Croft Tomb
Raider along with a theatre full of high school students. I only
spotted a few continuity errors, and the only real disappointment was that
some kid brought a squeaky toy into the theatre and spent ten minutes
squeaking it during the film while more and more people yelled for em to
stop. I spent the evening referring to the film's star as Angelie Jolina,
because it made Matthew laugh. We both enjoyed the film immensely.
In other news, I am pleased to announce that as of
tonight, all 137 cards from the idea box are online and
viewable.
