9 22 pm pdt [ walking again ]

We have to move the rest of Matthew's stuff over this weekend. We've lived here a week and the apartment was starting to feel homey, but now it will slide into disorder again as bag after bag of detritus is moved. We already moved everything essential. This is the unpleasant stuff -- the stuff you don't use but can't bare to throw out. It upsets Matthew more than it does me. I can't stand to toss anything of mine. He has to go back and forth about it.

Matthew was too tired to do anything when we got back home. I ran off to fetch a movie for the evening [Bedazzled] and he unwound on the couch. When I was in college, especially my first two years, I got into the habit of going for an hour walk every day. I'm back into that mode. I find an excuse to take a long walk as often as possible. It feels so good! On my walk tonight, as the day waned, I liked the look of this building:

[ 3 years: ]

three years ago today: The weather is hot and I am working long hours.

two years ago today: She had a theory that 40-year-olds were angry at the world, but the 20-somethings were still happy to be alive. I guess I fit in with her stereotype.

one year ago today: I think most parents think about vacations backwards. Get a really nice hotel room and then be happy spending a lot of time there. That is Matthew's and my view of an ideal vacation.
