I'm feeling a little frayed around the edges.
For my own sanity, my updates on the "new apartment" list:
needs:
- dining room table (gift from the man who is, for all intents
and purposes, my stepfather) and chairs
- bedside table(s)
- dresser(s)
- a collander (Matthew wants stainless steel with small holes, but not
mesh)
- two hampers (one for whites and one for darks)
- a set of knives (preferably Wüsthof)
- hand towels for the bathroom
wants:
- a teapot
- 3 more double old fashioned glasses and a set of 6 highball glasses of
the Crate and Barrel "Direction" barware variety and perhaps also
6 of the beer mugs and/or the pilsner glasses
- to have the couch cleaned
- windowboxes (hopefully from Windowbox.com
)
- 2 birdfeeders for outside the bedroom windows
- new towels
- bookshelves (another 6 x 6 foot one from IKEA and a couple of
their cheap white ones...)
- storage shelves for the big closet (w/ step-ladder)
- skinny shelves to hold CDs in their jewel cases, DVDs, and videos
- candelabras
- a reef tank
- a [USB] printer
- an indoor greenhouse to grow orchids in & orchids to grow
we're not so sure about:
- curtains
- cable (we get 0 channels now)
- screens for the windows
- toaster oven
- convection oven
- a little shelf for the freezer
- tall plants to go outside the bedroom
to fetch from LA (when I go again for Thanksgiving):
- my silverware
- kitchen items (garlic press, pepper mill, etc.)
- all my clothes
- alcohol from my old apartment (to pawn off on people at parties)
- extra hangers
- any art supplies I can locate
- all candles (esp. 3-wick red)
- my stereo and CDs
- my computer
- my computer table?
- my old dresser?
- all computer paraphernalia
- all DV paraphernalia
- all video paraphernalia
things to speak to the manager about:
- who's broom is this?
- if you want to replace this sink...

three years ago
today: I am about to leave for my dad's house and tomorrow I will be
on a plane at seven am.
two years ago
today: I was at my finest. When it comes to home improvement
projects, I won't complain and I don't give up.
one year ago today:
I pranced outside to check the temperature and found that the pool was
over 90 degrees at 11 at night.
