11 51 pm pdt [ new dish ]

I made a new dish for dinner which Matthew seemed to really enjoy. I am having fun experimenting with my cookbooks. There is nothing like adding something yummy to my repertoire.

Matthew came home to find I had put together one of our six chairs, three of our ten drawers (two others I opened and found broken, so they will need to be exchanged), and our large utility shelf (which I immediately filled with Matthew's stuff):

There are boxes everywhere, and I am reminded of how I used to decide the carpet was lava and lay down couch cushions and any other objects I could find in order to walk around the house without touching the carpet. Our walkways are a maze of unbuilt furniture.

[ 3 years: ]

three years ago today: I didn't write because I was in New York.

two years ago today: We have arrived in Salt Lake City safely, despite the recent hurricane (which hit half a block from where we are staying) and the Outdoor Retailers convention, which has brought some 10,000 people to this town.

one year ago today: Ingredients for this weekend include too much sun and too much family.

30/30

Bullitt (1968)

This movie was a great ride, but the end was odd. 4 stars

version 1
day 12

Beautiful Girls (1996)

I looked at the box and though "What a great cast," and then was horribly disappointed when I popped the movie in to realize I'd already seen it. I figured that out in the first thirty seconds. I saw this movie on tv, and it's worth watching on tv, but I don't find it worth renting. 2.5 stars
