_________________ 10 14 pm pdt [ assortments ] I did the usual assortment of errands today -- mailing stuff for Matthew, purchasing a thank-you card (for some wonderful goodies that were delivered from my Amazon wish list!!!), removing flowers which were deceased, taking out the recycling and composting, straigtening up. Getting surprises in the mail sent my heart racing with shock and delight. But I couldn't motivate to do much more than that, so I watched a movie and made Spanish rice for Matthew's and my dinner. I knew he'd be getting home late (he hasn't left the office yet) but I hadn't quite expected to have this much of the evening to myself. Oh, the phone is ringing...
[ 3 years: ] three years ago today: I didn't write because I was on a plane returning from Florida, where I attended my sister's Bat Mitzva. two years ago today: Trying to adjust yourself into someone else's life is often very difficult, but I think living with my grandfather will go very smoothly. We had dinner together tonight, and I had a yummy margarita (on the rocks, no salt). I also took a three mile walk today, soaking in the sights along Madison Avenue, and trying to imagine the culture shock of coming here for the first time from somewhere as simple as middle America, or as different as the South Pacific. one year ago today: The performance was a blast. Jo and I danced through the entire set, but Doyle refused all invitations. Charles (keyboardist for Groaning Mona) is a pleasure to watch. He was bouncing up and down with joy as he massaged music from his instrument of choice. I danced with a nine-year-old through two songs. I tossed my head back and laughed with joy every few minutes. Today was a good day.

The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990) What a fun movie. Chock full of late 80's stereotypes,
excellent actors, and amusing encounters, I thoroughly enjoyed this film,
which I had never seen before. version 1 Big Night (1996) We haven't watched this yet...
