30 September 2001day 3 - race day
We joined the teeming crowds early. In opposition to yesterdays chill, today was positively roasting. There was a boring "American unity" performance with John Mellencamp and Patti LaBelle, which I couldn't bear, so I walked around in the shade below the bleachers.
We had a fantastic view of many turns, including turn one.
And for 73 laps we watched the cars go around and around.
