Today I got to talk to this wonderful 89-year-old woman
in Florida names Rose. She is my grandfather's first cousin and she has a
razor sharp memory that filled in all the gaps I was looking for on the
family tree. Her birthday is in February and I told her I would try to
make it out to see her as a present for her 90th.

Rose made all the missing information I had gathered
come together in a cohesive whole. The family rumor of our relation to a
very minor celebrity is confirmed. The mystery of the Weissmann
connection was solved. Names I never hoped to get were all revealed. We
talked for an hour and I loved every minute. I was completely high
afterwards -- so giddy I was shaking.
As I headed off to work I realized I had forgotten my
W-4 forms and I ran back in for them. And then when I was a block away
from the bus stop I saw it pull away. All my elation deflated to
disappointment. My first day of work and I missed the bus. I had given
myself extra time, so I'm still not sure how it happened. I only ended up
being a few minutes late, but the day just wasn't the same. My
fingerprints cleared in the middle of my work day, so I was free to have
tons of wonderful screaming children in my charge. I had fun and enjoyed
freeze tag especially. I like my life.
