We are both so exhausted as to be non-functional. We must have gone to bed around 4 am last night, after a late-night run down to Matthew's office so he could pick up some equipment he dropped off in Berkeley this morning. One of his co-workers was still there when we left and Matthew has speculated that he didn't go home at all.

Rachel's Daily Diary

When I arrived at work a class was gathered around a large fire on the other side of the parking lot, but I didn't have time to investigate.

Work passed quickly today, despite my being tired. My co-worker "Bee" is leaving the job so he has begun making his goodbyes to the little ones. I have taken them to the computer lab every day this week and we are having a good time exploring what you can do with two dozen Macintoshes.

My supervisor is friendly with most of the people at the school, and especially with one woman in the office, who today offered to buy us all burritos. I felt awkward being bought a meal by this woman who I really don't know at all but I decided to go with the flow. My tortilla filled with black beans, rice and salsa was delicious.

We have almost finished our Christmas presents and I got a package in the mail today. It is a beautiful present all prefectly wrapped with inviting ribbons and a bow, but Matthew says I have to wait until Christmas to open it. I have e-mail the gift's sender to find our if this is really true. I'm so excited to tear into it!
