How do you and Matthew manage your different eating styles? I have the same problem with my boyfriend but yet he doesn't understand why i want to be vegetarian. Any pointers?

First of all, I strive to be the least preachy vegetarian on the planet. I wouldn't recommend the vegan lifestyle to most anyone and I never bring up the benefits of being vegetarian, though I am happy to discuss my motives if someone asks.

My basic philosphy is that I will respect what you want to eat and hopefully you will respect what I want to eat. Unfortunately, I get a lot of ribbing (how many times do I have to hear that it isn't real pizza if it doesn't have cheese?) but I still try my hardest.

So that being said, Matthew can eat whatever he pleases, though if I find it particularly repulsive, I'll ask him to brush his teeth before kissing me. He cooks himself a steak for dinner occasionally, and eats meat whenever we go out. He likes cheese and salami a lot, so we always have some in the fridge.

When we first started dating, he seemed to eat extra meat just prove that I wasn't going to change him. He prefers red meat to chicken and picked up the nickname Medium Rare before I met him. He is the kind of person who likes to have two double doubles for lunch.

My advice is to try to respect his meat, let him know that you're doing so, and hope he learns to respect your lack of meat. I can handle his salami if he can handle my braised tofu.

You say that you find that the photos you post of yourself to be wholly unsatisfactory. Are there any that you do like?

Yes. I actually think I photograph rather well, just not when I am holding the camera. I'm not in the mood to dig through the archives for images I aprove of. I was just trying to communicate that I feel like I always get the angle wrong when I photograph myself.

What kind of dancing do you like to do?

Any. Ok, any but preferably not line dancing. Classes-wise, I like modern, jazz, hip hop, African. I've also enjoyed ballet and tap. Club-wise, something with lyrics in the music (ie. I would prefer rap or hip hop or disco to house or techno, or trip hop).

In my relationships, I have always wanted to be a small part of a man's life -- I wanted to be something extra that makes him happy.

I am even planning a road trip after graduation so I can meet all of these crazy relatives I've been electronically communicating with.
