8 39 am pst   [ him II ]

Continued from yesterday.

Matthew has naturally straight teeth and horrible eyesight. He used to wear contacts, but then his doctor told him he needed to wear his glasses more often. I got to pick out the frames myself so I love him in his glasses.

Matthew was adopted. He hates labels. He hates being referred to as Black [he is hallf Black]. He hates having to fill out his ethnicity on forms. He and I almost never think about being an interracial couple unless someone bothers to remind us. I think we will have beautiful children.

Matthew hates to be alone. Instead of going to sleep at a reasonable hour last night in his New York hotel (where he is for two days on business), he had dinner with my grandfather, then went out for dinner a second time with a bunch of his college fraternity friends, including the guy through whom we met as well as Juleby of Temptation Island 2 fame.

Matthew adores my family, which I, of course, find baffling. Matthew also worships his family. I believe he went to school in California in order to not be too far away from his mom.

Some days Matthew knows he is good looking. He always knows he is a good dancer. He has beautiful big hands. He doesn't like his belly. He hates his feet. He has a bum that sticks out a bit which he pretends not to like but I think I'm winning him over with my adulation of his tush.

Matthew smiles when he is doing something he loves, like driving fast, but then quickly becomes embarrassed [!!!] that he is so happy. He gets embarrassed easily. Like everyone, he hates messing up. He doesn't like being the center of attention. He is my favorite person on the planet.

Perhaps to be continued tomorrow...

I tried e-mailing Aurora to wish her a happy birthday, but it bounced. It's strange to suddenly realize you don't know how to get in touch with someone.

We woke up too late and our yummy dinner interfered with hitting the late night lull. But the day was perfect.

It was a one hour show of men talking about and showing their penises.

I consider myself blessed to have seen the dawn of its invention and I envelope myself in the wonder of experiencing the profound effect it has on my lifestyle.

I must admit I'm having a lot of fun with this.
