8 11 pm pst [ him III ]
Continued from yesterday.
Matthew does not like to be the center of attention.
He does not like to be focused on. He probably won't like that I've
devoted three entries to describing him. He does not like public displays
of affection (PDAs). He isn't prude, just modest.
Matthew is deeply religious. His father is a Lutheran
minister. Matthew doesn't attend church but he has a personal
relationship with his god.
Matthew loves good beef, red wine, olives, cheese,
salami, sparkling water, scotch (particularly McCallan's 18-year-old and
older), pizza, cheeseburgers, my salads, cereal with soy milk, chips and
salsa, burritos, and all sorts of other silly stuff.
Matthew and I are opposites in most respects. But we
get along perfectly. He would never intentionally hurt me. He gets upset
if I fake being hurt or make fake whimpers.
Matthew will begin sweating if he realizes he has
forgotten to put on deoderant. He keeps an extra toothbrush in his desk
at work. Matthew is very good at what he does.
Matthew has had the same best friend since high school.
He likes to talk on the phone. He spends a long time composing e-mails.
He likes to do things that make me happy. He likes to play games, but
only if he wins. He does not like it when I am competative with him.
He does like it when I compliment him. I think it
turns him on when I say "I love you." I do love him. He is my perfect
prince.

My father and sister are in town so that she can look at colleges.
We had a filling Thai dinner (her first!) and then played cards (Matthew
won!). While she was shuffling, I was struck my how foreign her hands
looked. She must have her mother's hands.
