10 12 pm pdt [ racing II ]
Today was our second day racing [see racing day #1], and I will try to post the footage
I shot tomorrow. Matthew and
I set off early with our requisite trip to the gas station to put air in
the tires. I took a lot of photos, most of which I will include without
caption, because they are really meant to capture the mood, not the
specifics. As you can see, there are a lot of boys of all ages, with cars
of many varieties (though there were more Subaru WRX's than anything else
in Matthew's class). Most boys were white or Asian. Many brought racing
tires to change onto their cars. Others, like Matthew, simply removed the
spare tire to make the car lighter. We were again in the parking lot of
the Oakland coliseum.

Matthew has tape to stick his number to the car. He was
very happy to be 330.

I think Matthew's car looks like a butterfly:

Sun spots on Matthew and I look like an idiot because
my helmet wasn't pushed down at all.

In my glasses you can see the reflection of my
outstretched arms holding the camera:

58.991 58.069 59.196

At the gas station again, filling up after the race.
