My supervisor has bronchitis, so she was unable to make
our weekly drink night. Unwilling to break the tradition, I called
Matthew's old roommate Tom, who joined me at the bar. It turned out to be
a wonderfully celebratory occasion as he has just gotten a job as a
financial planner.
We yapped and drank and then headed next door for some
yummy food at Garibaldi's. I got two little appetisers totalling less
than $10 and ate all the bread I could get my hands on. Mmm, bread. A
friend called and agreed to my crazy idea of going dancing on a Wednesday
night (Qool? Liquid?). By the
time I walked home she called and said she was too tired, which was fine
with me. I have my walks all timed so going to the bank is exactly 15
minutes and going to the bar is 25. As I walk I keep thinking of the
Russian proverb:
The church is near but the road is icy;
the bar is far but I will walk carefully.
Today was "Crazy Day" at school.
The kids dressed appropriately.
And made applicable faces.
Even the administration was dressed up.
