When I was in high school, we did a lot of critiquing
of our fellow students' papers. Various teachers handled the many
difficulties in different way. The general consensus was that you needed
a plus for ever minus. If you wanted to criticize, you needed to
compliment. I've used the
technique myself.
So I'm scrounging for a plus. Last week, my coworker
that I didn't like quit unexpectedly. It's a bit more work for everyone
until the school year ends, but not having to deal with her grumpy days is
so worth it.
Now I get to share my minus, right? As of today, my
grandfather was readmitted to the hospital. For those that are not caught
up with the story, two months ago, he had a heart attack. Then he had
quadruple bypass surgery. Then he was readmitted due to post-surgery
complications. Now he's been readmitted again. Ugg!
I sent my mom a "congrats on your new house" card
today and realized that it should also be a "congrats on your new husband"
card, so it became both.
