Today I had an eleven and a half hour work day. I
highly recommend against it to anyone who is considering one. I really
don't know how people do this every day.
What made the day so long was parents' night. My
interaction with the parents all fell into three categories:
- Let me tell you about my kid...
- What is your background in education, Rachel?
- What will my child be doing all day?
That last item was asked in fear. Our school, as of
this year, is trying to use the Reggio Emilia approach. I'd try to explain it but I don't
understand it myself. Which didn't make it easy to chat with the parents
about it.
