We're having "Party Week" at school. Yesterday was pyjama day and today is tie-dye day. Tie-dye day is silly because it allows for no accessories, I don't own any tie-dyes, and several of our foreign families didn't know what it was. Tomorrow will be Hawaiian day and I have actually given some thought to what we could rename it next year since it does not offer an accurate view of Hawaii or Hawaiians, but more the Hollywood-promoted vision of leis and hula all day. Tropical day? Hawaiian-shirt day?

Yesterday one of the kids walked in in the cutest little dinosaur pyjamas with a Murder King crown on his head. He walked up to me and the first thing he saud was, "I'm the king of pancakes." It's good to be the king.
