my last day of school for the summer

Wow. The party ended and I was a little sad. It's over. I did have a great moment though. Everyone had quieted and all eyes were on the teachers. The parents were going to present us with gifts (they made really wonderful memory books of the year -- just what I wanted). The head room parent was saying, "We just want to thank you for all your hard work --" and everyone was waiting when one of the kids loudly asked, "Can I hug you, Rachel?" I laughed and said yes, and up he came for a scrumptious hug. What a beautiful memory.

Tomorrow is one of my co-teachers' bithdays and also the day we clean the school. I am petrified of cooking for her because she is deathly allergic to nuts, but she's told me how much she loves banana bread and how she can't ever have it because it's always made with nuts. So I've set about to baking her some banana bread both vegan and nut-free. I'm skipping the chocolate chips too because the ingredients say that they may contain traces of nuts.
