10 33 am pdt [ dream ]

I had a wild dream in which several of the characters were cartoons but some were also real life people (including myself). We were in some big mansion but now I don't remember why. Eventually people started disappearing and several of us became worried they were getting murdered. I think this may have been a boarding school. Then I remember talking to this guy alone. He was a redhead and I remember what he looked like distinctly -- he was not like anyone I;ve seen in real life. He was very freckly and pale, and he had short red hair and a reddish-blondish goatee.

The redhead kept getting to close to me and I kept backing away as politely as I could. He continuously was clicking his ballpoint pen and finally I told him flat out that I was nervous that he might be the murderer (anyone might be) and that I would appreciate it if he could give me a little more personal space.

He seemed a bit uncomfortable with that and made some joke that went something like, "Well then I guess we can't fuck." I looked him dead in the eyes and said that, "I'd love to fuck," but that right then I wanted to solve the murders. Looking shocked, he concurred.

Then he and some other person and I went into a strange room with gymnastic mats on the ground. The ground was uneven and we all got nervous that this is where the bodies were being stored. Mr. Redhead calmly suggested that we check and as we tore up the heavy mats we discovered that there were fake bodies underneath. Then we all knew that someone was just trying to scare us away and no one was really dying. The three of us decided to leave and as we headed out in some truck we started a caravan of all of the student. Each of the cartoon characters was fully formed, with a speacial color scheme, sound effects and a particular way of moving. There were the troublemakers, including a snake-like creature that could spin in fast circles around anything and a pink and blue fish-like creature that could stretch out to an enormous size.

Matthew cleaned out and organized the garage today. It was a huge dusty job that landed him in a foul mood for the rest of the day. I got called for a last minute kid-sitting job and earned myself a little extra cash for the summer.

I've become determined to actually hang things on the walls. We've been living here for a year and all that's up are The Red Lady in the living room and a pair of Nepalese temple scratchings in the bedroom.

Tomorrow I am determined to swing by IKEA and get skinny media shelves for all our CDs and DVDs. Then I'm going to paint and hang two little shadow boxes I acquired from ebay. After that I'm going to hang my modest collection of purses on the wall. And lastly we're going to hang photographs in the hall.

It's going to be a long summer...

PS: Matthew is headed to Atlanta again on Tuesday.
