_________________ 7 36 pm pdt [ subbing ] Today I substituted at the preschool again. There is something odd about having a conversation with a four-year-old. You have whole sections of life (all of the really juicy stuff) that is missing from a conversation: politics, religion, sex. But oyu also get to remove a lot fo the ridiculous social rules. You can say what you want. You can say things in your own way. And they often do. I sat in amazement recently as a four-year-old vividly described a dream he had had. When I told Matthew about it, he reminded me of my obsession with my sister's youth when she was young. I used to ask her to recound her dreams and memories in the hope that she could remember before she was born. I wanted to know if she could remember god.
