_________________ I don't think I've ever entertained my brother by myself, and it was quite the treat. He slept in until one, which I had not been expecting. He had warned me that he wanted to "do something", so I made a list of possiblities in order of least desirable to most deisrable:
Adam voted for the Tech and off we went. After navigating the construction in downtown San Jose, we parked and wandered until we found somewhere for lunch: Original Joe's. First off, the food was not great, though the garlic bread did have satisfying chunks of real garlic. But I would recommed going to this restaurant for the bizarre experience it provides. We entered into the dark bar, done up in 70's brown. We were directed to the restaurant seating next door. Here the decor was also 70's. The waiters were in suits and the napkins were cloth, but we were sitting in diner booths. The menu appeared to have been unchanged since the restaurant opened in 1956. The "Diet Plate" was "Hamburger Steak (12 oz.) with Cottage Cheese and Fresh Fruit". The first two things Adam asked the waiter about he shook his head and said, "You don't want that." Our waiter was slow, which meant we got inside the museum just as they were about to put away the Segway. We were very polite and begged subtly, so that both of us could take a ride. This was the highlight of the day. After that we explored and played, getting motion sick on the ZapCam ride and having our heads scanned in 3D. Then it was off home for movie watching, dinner, and a little walk to the grocery store.
