I woke up feeling guilty about the blowout in Matthew's car, thinking there must have been something different I should have done so that it wouldn't have gotten so scratched an whatnot.

Matthew had left early to head to Atwater to practice racing in the BMW M3 he will be competing in at Nationals.

I was trying to teach myself to play Amazons and getting my butt thoroughly kicked by the computer.

The phone rang. Matthew said, "It's been kind of an interesting day," which I knew to read as, "Something really bad has happened." While he was driving the M3, the engine blew up. Apparently this is a known flaw in the M3 and it is all covered by warranty. BMW will simply install a brand new engine for free and the boys will have to scramble to drive all the break-in miles before the race. But an exploding engine is a little more exciting than that. Apparently the car's owner was super nice about it, said he knew it would happen and it was no big deal, but Matthew was driving at the time.

So, it hasn't been a good week for us automotively speaking.
