My nanny boss called me at 8:20 pm yesterday (Sunday) to change my hours and pay rate for this coming year, which began today. I told him I'd have to think about it, and then where one of the moms arrived home today she said, "Did you decide?" and I just said, "No." I want to keep this job, but I also want to feel good about it...

The girls had a great day, with one of them reporting that the first day of school was, "Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!" We went to the park where we saw a newborn squirrel that had fallen out of a tree. It's eyes weren't even open. After I got off work I went to the park to watch it a bit longer. Eventually the police came. And eventually I had to leave. But it was beautiful and small, and I wanted to cuddle it so much.

We got another 10 invitations in the mail today, and we also received our first 3 response postcards. Very fun! I anticipate that we will receive a flood of them in the future.

My co-teachers and I have plans on Wednesday to view the state of affairs in our classroom and do a bit of planning for the new year. Work officially starts next Monday.
