I would say that one of my great paranoias in life is that I will lose the data on my computer. I have lost everything to hard drive crashes before, years ago, and I do occasionally overwrite a photo or diary entry, which distresses me. I am a digital packrat, always wanting to save everything. That is why I am so pleased with my Seagate 300 GB External FireWire/USB 2.0 7200 rpm hard drive (with 8MB cache, model no. ST3300801CB-RK). With 300 gigs, I can back-up my machine many times over. Now I don't worry about losing my data (except to fire, which would claim both my machine and the back-up, as well as all of my precious family tree documents that I have been working on for nearly a decade now).
