_________________ 11 39 pm mst [ skiing day 2 ] It was colder today; it was snowing. The sun never came out. And I was the goddess of the mountain. Matthew took me down a black diamond run, and I didn't fall once all day. I was proud of being able to keep up with him most of the time, and we whipped out my old Hi-8 video camera and shot a pinch of footage of us both skiing. The tour I am on consists of 350 high schoolers who have come to ski in Park City. With that volume of teens we have had a couple arrests and broken bones, but I haven't had to break up any major fights or anything. I am told the kids aren't that bad this year. I am also told the last night is the worst. After skiing we came back to the hotel to check the kids in (each day they have to come by so we can see that they are alive and unharmed). Then we travelled to Main Street and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Main Street Pizza & Noodle with several other tour guides. Aftwerwards we journeyed to the chocolate store where I procured a carmel apple dipped in sliced almonds. I cannot remember the last time I had a carmel apple (perhaps a dozen years ago) and it was a scrumptious indulgence. Before heading home, we lounged in a bookstore. I people watched, rather that browsing, and I giggled out loud when a small child entered the store and loudly announced, "Sam I Am is a funny name." |
