reminder yet again....

To celebrate my diary's second birthday, readers are invited to submit a guest entry [on the topic of your choice]. Please e-mail your entry to rachel@cinemaspace.berkeley.edu before September 20th.

I actually had something to say, but I completely forgot it by the time I finished the above table.   This is actually a frequent problem for me.   I compose entries all day in my mind, but I forget most of them by the time I sit down at the keyboard.   I have always made stories in my head, for as long as I can remember.   I always told myself that if I thought about it, it wouldn't happen, because I would start to bug myself out with either psychically predicting things of thinking about my own murder.   I am obviously up to late...

I joined a mailing list on rootsweb to try to find a long lost cousin in California.   A peach named Joe has been trying to help me, claiming that he specializes in "dead ends".   I want to be able to say that some day!

I am getting a little stir crazy being stuck inside because of the weather.   The rain lits up for a bit, but always begins pouring again shortly thereafter.   I have been sitting online for several hours, and will now have to get up and stretch.   Oh, and I should probably get around to eating breakfast too, because my belly is making a symphony of noises.

I am absolutely high on the fantastic dinner I just had.   We just had dinner for the first time at a restaurant named Celadon on Madison Avenue.   The ambiance was lovely and the portions were arranged very artfully, although in small portions.   The restaurant was deserted due to the all-day heavy rain (which was the result of the hurricane), so we got all sorts of special attention.   The maitre-de (spelling?) Gabrielle was very nice and our waiter Byron was fantastic.   I asked him where the good dance clubs were and he told me where he would be tomorrow night and offered to get me in on the guest list.   What a sweety.   They made me a vegetable medley (which wasn't on the menu) and I got to sip some Grahams 1977 port (as old as I am!), which was one of the loveliest flavors to have ever graced my lips.   It just so happened that dinner ended as the rain hit its heaviest downpour of the day, so we ran home trying (unsuccessfully) not to get soaked; I laughed out loud the whole way...   Now I am home and cozy, and my little laptop is keeping my thighs warm.   I can't take the smile off my face, and I look forward to my adventures out dancing in New York City for the first time.
